Even though tadasana is usually the first asana taught, it is seldom given the attention it merits. Learning the correct actions and alignment in tadasana is essential if other postures are to be aligned; it also improves the posture, helps relieve back pain, and creates groundedness, power and peace. There is a whole world of exploration beyond “press into the four corners of the feet.”
In this workshop, we will learn how to position the body over the feet so that the skeletal structure bears the weight, as well as how to use the muscular system to create stability and length. We will then explore how a correctly aligned tadasana leads us to the energetics of union. When I first learned the information I will share in this workshop, I found it revelatory.
